Learn What?

Did I learn?  From the famous words of Amy Winehouse "NO, NO, NO"

The kids were all getting ready for bed, Josie was in the shower.  I went in my bathroom to get Kimball's toothbrush and I met this. . .
I knew right away to whom it belonged to.  So I checked on her in the shower and yeppers, cut short right up front.  Now, Josie's hair does not grow quickly.  And she has been the scissor girl, which has made it a bit tricky.  So we grabbed the stool and away we cut. {Heather do you do haircut emergencies?}
She was so upset because her whole life she's wanted "long hair, like the princess's have".  We were hoping she was getting close but, "NO, NO, NO".  If you see her, don't mention, THE hair.  She didn't want a picture of it because now it's too "short".  She went to Katheryn's on a bribe and a ton of soothing words, along the line that, Katheryn won't make fun of you.  I can hardly get her to go anywhere, she's still so upset.  Hopefully she learned, as well as myself. . . at our house scissors need a lock box!

Oh, Jo, Jo {sigh}

This week has been very quite at our house.  The older two have been doing camps with Craig.  Although I absolutely love spending time with them, it's been fun these past few days doing simple things with the younger two.  We spent a few hours at the book store a few days ago.  They each got to pick their "one favorite".  When we got home we cuddled up were reading the books.  Josie was playing with my hair, which I love, while we were reading Kimball's "Harold and the Purple Crayon".  She left to get another comb and a bow.  She started to comb and the next thing i heard was, yep you guessed it, a slow, ssssnnnniiiip.  I froze, what was that. . . it couldn't be. . . it has to be!  Yes she cut my hair.  I'm so needing to put her in beauty school now so she can give good hair cuts.  For those that know her this is no surprise.  She has always been a haircutting gal.  But she hasn't done it for probably over a year.  So many new bridges and discoveries have happened since then.  Will I ever learn?

Fantastic Fourth

I can't believe that the fourth has come and gone!

This year was a very unique year for us.  Normally Craig is working BYU camps during the fourth.  This year he had that week off! YAY!!  It was fabulous.  We filled the entire weekend with activities.  We hit the balloons & breakfast, tennis, parade, Milestones to Freedom @ Ellis Island, jets, fireworks & smores.

We've been reading the Fablehaven's as a family.  While we waited for the fireworks we all cuddled up on the deck and read by the light of a lantern.  It was really cool.

Jet's are always the favorite but this year we added a "most meaningful" as well: Milestones to Freedom @ Ellis Island.  Amazing is an understatement.   I am so grateful for the passion that was put into this.  My kids {as well as us} understood & felt better then ever what we were celebrating.  A big Thank You to all who contributed to this!

***We hope you all had a***
FANTASTIC FOURTH!!

Dog Tags

We did this awesome activity from "Little Birdie Secrets".  Stamping dog tags.  It was sooo fun!  Perfect for boys & girls of all ages.  We even made one for Craig's keys & a tag for Kimball titled "Monkey Boy" with his phone number on it.  Hopefully that will help. :)

In case you wanted to do one too:
