Strawberry Days has come and gone and we enjoyed the rodeo festivities. We duded up, rugged up and headed out. Kimball was sporting his very fashionable Outback Spectacular hat.

Adventures Begin
Last year Brittany posted this picture:
I did a double take and had to look close. I was sure this was us when we were little, it wasn't. This was the way my dad took us "hiking". It was always an adventure. Our first Y hike was more then an adventure. My dad never takes the "path", that would make it too easy and not exciting enough for us adventure seekers. At one point we were hugging the side of the mountain holding on to clumps of grass. I think it only took us 30 minutes to get to the parking lot. I'm not quite as adventurous. However with all Manning children now potty trained and old enough to walk longer distances. . . it was time for our adventures to start. . . Needless to say the Y was the first thing on the list. They did it—they were so awesome!!
Well they all almost did it. I carried Kimball up the last third of the way. But he's still so proud of himself.
Whitney was our amazing hiking buddy.
We loved having her along.
Adventure number two: Stewart Falls.
On the way up McKay asked "What's gotten in to you. Why do we have to go hiking all the time now." "It's fun" "Not to me" "Yes it is. We're going to continue to hike every week and your going to like it, dang it". He thought I was funny, he didn't realize there was a note of truth to it. As an added bonus it was part of the Trail of Faith Craig and I were working on for Trek. {which was totally awesome!}
I challenged the kids to a king size candy bar to whoever went under the waterfall. They were awesome!!
We miss you hiking buddy.
We've got trails lined up for when you get back ;D
